So, out of a couple of half minds with great intentions, has come what we think is a pretty solid idea. We all know that there are other "travel" kennels out there, and they each have their place. However, we are seeking to put together an encompassing kennel that promotes travel hashing, not just within a specific city (if you have multiple kennels) or state, but across the southeast. We would like to welcome you to the Southeastern Degenerates! The whole intent behind this effort is to promote getting out, meeting, and hashing with other kennels besides your own. Whether that be an event, a trail, or drinking practice we want to expand our horizons. We have selected a representative from each state to assist in promoting trails of interest, events, or significant occasions and to provide a point of contact within the kennels across the Southeast. There will be opportunities the Southeastern Degenerates host such as specific trails or events, and we will announce those as they draw near. So, welcome and always remember the four tenets of hashing as brought to us by the almighty G:
1-To promote physical fitness among our members.
2-To get rid of weekend hangovers.
3-To acquire a good thirst and satisfy it with beer.
4-To persuade the older members that they are not as old as they feel.
While we enjoy having a good time and do enjoy a cold beverage on occasion, we value our traditions. Much of what we do is based on traditions that have been passed down from kennel to kennel, or hasher to hasher, over many decades. And with those traditions, we also try to remember important dates in not only the kennel’s history but in hashing in general.
